10 Best Secret Endings Of 2019

December 30, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Discover the best secret endings of 2019 with these top 10 picks.

A Modern Twist (Kingdom Hearts 3)

Kingdom Hearts 3 brings an end to a decade of story — but there’s a little more here for super-fans to find. While exploring the many Disney-themed worlds of Kingdom Hearts 3, you can grab your camera and take photos. You can find special ‘Proud Emblems’ all over the place — kind of like the hidden Mickey Mouse ears all over the Magical Kingdom. Take snapshots of these hidden emblems, and you can unlock a bonus short ending, depicting Sora in a modern-day Tokyo.

Hidden Epilogue (Dragon Quest Builders 2)

Dragon Quest Builders 2 expands on the original with a massive island you can build endlessly on, and the story is full of charming characters you’ll populate your personal island’s communities with. But, even a superfan might not know that there’s a secret epilogue waiting at the very end. You’ll need to complete a laundry-list of objectives; finish 35 Tablet missions, unlock 45 recipes, finish all the Scavenger Hunts on each island, and share a Buildertopia block.

Get everything done, and you’ll get a little more closure to the story. After playing for 50+ hours, I had no idea this secret ending even existed. So it totally belongs on this list, even if it’s more cozy than revelatory.

Our 2019 countdown continues — check out even more awesome secret endings on the next page.
