The new Gunsmith tool in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare lets you truly customize your weapons — and some weapons can be transformed totally into entirely different weapons. Everyone has their favorites from the series, and thanks to a whole lot of community effort, there are some awesome alternate weapons you can craft using the Gunsmith station.
Once separated into multiple different weapons, the humble MP5 can be transformed into an MP5K, or the stealth MP5SD. The M4AI can turn into a classic M16, and the AK-47 can become a lead-slinging MPK. There are way more variants that don’t just change how these weapons work, but alter the model enough to match favorite weapons from the long history of Modern Warfare. For this guide, we’re focusing on only ‘official’ gun variants. Nothing like the ridiculous (and now completely nerfed) 1-shot kill shotgun sniper rifle. This is all about transforming one gun into a different type of gun — in physical appearance, and in function.
Below, you’ll find descriptions on how to alter each weapon in the gunsmith. We’ll have the gun’s name, then a list of mods to swap to complete the weapon transformation.
