The Outer Worlds: How To Recruit Every Companion | All Party Members Guide

Collect all your companions in The Outer Worlds with these quest locations.

Companions are your far-future friends in The Outer Worlds. These party members will improve your stats and help you fight any aliens that get in your way. You can bring two companions with you when you land your ship, the Unreliable, and it’s a pretty good idea to keep these guys around.

Not only do they chime in with witty dialogue during conversations, but they’ll also give you totally new questlines you can experience. On top of the role-playing stuff, they also give you huge boosts to your different skills. Parvati, your first companion, will increase your Engineering, Persuasion, and Lockpicking skills. Every companion has three skills they can focus on, and they’re all super useful.

It’s also possible to miss companions. Below, I’ll go over all the locations you can find and recruit these party members.

How To Recruit Every Companion | All Party Members Guide

Parvati: Use the elevator in the Edgewater Cannery and talk to the boss for the ‘Stranger in a Strange Land’ quest. You’ll automatically gain Parvati as an engineer helper. She’s an awkward worker with loyalty to Spacer’s Choice.

  • Skill Focus: Engineering, Persuade, Lockpick

Vicar Max: Talk to Vicar Max in the church in Edgewater to begin his quest ‘The Illustrated Manual’ — complete the quest to unlock Max. This heretical holy man is interested in new interpretations of ‘the law’.

  • Skill Focus: Hack, Science, Intimidate

SAM: Unreliable – The robot is in one of the rooms. Examine it after restoring power and taking flight with the Unreliable. You’ll start the quest ‘The Cleaning Machine’. Find the Acid Steeper through the locked door in the Storage Facility in Roseway.

  • Skill Focus: Science, Hack, Intimidate

Ellie: Groundbreaker – Find Ellie (and her quest) in the medical area of the Groundbreaker, in the Promenade. Talk to her and take on her quest ‘Worst Contact’.

  • Skill Focus: Lie, Engineering, Medical

Felix: Groundbreaker – Go to the Groundbreaker Docking Bay to find Felix milling around just outside your ship. He’s a space adventurer with no respect for the Board — talk to him once you can leave Groundbreaker and you’ll be able to hire him. No quest required!

  • Skill Focus: Sneak, Persuade, Lockpick

Nyoka: Monarch – Find Nyoka at The Yacht Club in Stellar Bay. She’s a heavy-drinker armed with an energy LMG. Complete here quest and agree to get her help for your main story quest, and she’ll join you.

  • Skill Focus: Sneak, Lie, Medical
