Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – How To Unlock More Healing Charges | All Gourd Seeds Locations

March 28, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Unlock more healing charges for your Gourd in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with these handy seed locations.

Healing is kind of important in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The more healing charges you unlock, the better you’ll be able to survive the increasingly touch challenges you’ll face as you progress.

Like in previous games in the developer’s Dark Souls series, you can find special items that increase the amount of uses your rechargeable healing item can carry. You start with just one, but you’ll be able to find nine more throughout your lengthy adventure.

And we’re here to make sure you don’t miss a single drop. The items you’re looking out for are called Gourd Seeds. Trading Gourd Seeds to the doctor Emma will increase the amount of times you can use the Gourd and heal yourself in combat. Even better, this healing item recharges fully when you rest at an idol, so you’ll never run out of juice.

How To Unlock More Healing Charges | All Gourd Seeds Locations

Gourd Seeds are special items that can be applied to your Gourd to increase the amount of healing charges it provides. You start with just one use, and each seed will increase the amount of uses by one. The Goard refills every time you rest at an Idol. You can turn the Gourd Seed in to Emma at the Dilapidated Temple or at the top of Ashina Castle.

Gourd Seed #1: Ashina Outskirts, Outskirts Wall – Gate Path Idol – Dropped when you defeat the mini-boss General Naomori. This will be your first gourd seed. It’s impossible to miss.

Gourd Seed #2: Ashina Outskirts, Outskirts Wall – Gate Path Idol – In the interior of the gatehouse above the Chained Ogre mini-boss location.

Gourd Seed #3: Ashina Outskirts, Battlefield – At the battlefield where you fight the horse-riding commander Gyoubu Oniwa, you’ll find a Memorial Mob vendor that sells a Gourd Seed. The seed costs 1,000 sen.

Gourd Seed #4: Ashina Castle, Ashina Castle Idol – Past the mini-boss General, to the right. Find him and complete his side-quest to unlock Fujioka, the Info Broker. He’ll setup shop in the Dilapidated Temple. He sells a Gourd Seed for 2,000 sen.

Gourd Seed #5: Sunken Valley, Under-Shrine Valley – Pass the second gunman and climb left. Continue up the walls, past the pair of gunmen, to find a small shack with a gourd seed.

Gourd Seed #6: Ashina Castle, Upper Tower – Antechamber – Found on the upper levels of the tower. From this idol, you’ll be able to crack open a chest containing this seed.

Gourd Seed #7: Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo, Senpou Temple – Found inside the first interior of the temple itself. After taking the stairs up through the forest, grapple through the hole in the roof and you’ll drop into a strange room with monks surrounded a corpse. There’s an item offering in front of this corpse — that’s your gourd seed. Just watch out. The dead don’t stay down for long here.

Gourd Seed #8: Ashina Depths, Mibu Village – In the center of the infested village, you’ll find a large tree that’s glowing orange. It’s surrounded by enemies. The gourd seed is sitting at the base of that tree.

Gourd Seed #9: Fountainhead Palace, Palace Grounds – The final seed is located in a chest near the Palace Grounds Idol.
