Don’t delete your installation of Hitman (2016) just yet if you’ve purchased Hitman 2 (2018). It’s been well publicized that you’ll be able to download and play the first six locations included in the original Hitman in Hitman 2, with all your additional benefits and bonuses intact. That includes free extra missions. These Legacy Missions can be viewed from the main menu in Hitman 2 (2018), but the game doesn’t explain how to actually download these levels.
That’s where the original game’s installation comes in. To prove you own a copy of the original game, all you have to do is start up Hitman (2016) and download the latest update. The update will add extra features the main menu UI — including the ability to access and download the Legacy Locations DLC.

More Hitman 2 (2018) guides on Gameranx:
That’s right. You can’t actually access and download the DLC from the Hitman 2 (2018) menu. You need to patch the original version, then download the Legacy Packs for each individual map.
- Patch Hitman 1 (2016) and go to the Store Tab / Featured Tab to download the Legacy Pack DLC.
- There are two versions — the Game of the Year Edition, or the Standard Edition Legacy Pack.
Select the Legacy Pack you want, and you’ll be taken to the PSN / XBL / PC storefront with the Legacy Pack DLC. Select to download the pack once you’ve accessed the correct content in your particular platform’s storefront. If you don’t own the original game, you can purchase the first six missions for $20, or upgrade the Standard Edition Legacy Pack to the Game of the Year Edition Legacy Pack for $10.
Once you’ve downloaded the Legacy Pack, you can seamlessly access the first six locations in Hitman 2 (2018), essentially making the first game obsolete. The levels are even upgraded with a few new features — you can bring you handy suitcase and unlockable items to Hitman 1 levels, and you’ll find working mirrors and crowd hiding mechanics. It sounds to die for.
