#10 Nier: Automata

Nier: Automata is a sequel to the 2010 video game release known as Nier, a spin-off title from the Drakengard series. Overall, the story is set within a proxy war between machines developed by alien invaders and the last surviving members of humanity.

#9 Horizon Zero Dawn

Horizon Zero Dawn marks as the first IP developed by Guerrilla Games since their release of Killzone in 2004. This is an action role-playing video game title that is set a thousand years into the future.

Mankind has mysteriously fallen with cities only a shell of a once thriving society. Now only small tribal groups remain with giant mechanical beasts roam the world openly. The plot will revolve around a female hunter named Aloy who sets out on a journey to explore the open world, meet with other tribes, and potentially learn of why she was banished from the tribe as a baby.

#8 The Walking Dead Telltale Games

Telltale Games takes real precious care when it comes to their video game releases. Oftentimes they will handle other IPs such as Batman and Game of Thrones though they add their own unique twist to it. This usually results in an adventure narrative that relies heavily on player choices in order to alter the story and the characters within it.

The Walking Dead takes place in the popular comic and AMC TV series universe where you may even see a familiar face. However, predominately, the game is centered around unique characters within The Walking Dead universe.

This first season follows Lee Everett, a man that is on his way to prison until the zombie apocalypse actually ends up freeing him from the law enforcement. Now free in a chaotic world, Lee stumbles upon a young child by the name of Clementine who is all alone. Quickly Lee takes on the role of Clementine’s guardian and protects her from the harsh new realities of the world.

Afterwards, players will be going through a few more narrative adventures that focuses on Clementine and her life going through the zombie apocalypse.

#7 The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

  • Release: May 19, 2015

Fans of western RPGs will no doubt have played at least one of the Witcher games. With its deep rich narrative journeys and fleshed out worlds, the trilogy has wrapped up with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As expected the third installment not only saw a massive overhaul in terms of graphics but provided gamers with a much more lively world filled with quests and exploration.

While still taking the role of Geralt of Rivia, players will find that that they must deal with the invasion of the Norther Kingdom along with the growing threat of the Wild Hunt. Outside of just a massive world to explore, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt delivers campaigns and quests to keep you busy for hours on end.

#6 Persona 5

  • Publisher: Atlus
  • Platforms: PS3, PS4
  • Release: April 4, 2017

Persona 5 is the sixth installment to the Persona series which is connected to the Megami Tensei franchise. The video game takes place in modern-day Tokyo which follows the protagonist who transfers into an academy known as Shujin. Soon into the school year, the protagonist along with a number of other students awaken with unique powers along with the ability to explore the Metaverse.

The Persona series doesn’t have a difficult time gathering up followers with each release and with this being the latest, you definitely don’t want to miss out on all the fun.
