Days Gone

  • Developer: SIE Bend Studio
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Platforms: PS4
  • Release: April 26, 2019

Days Gone is set in a post-apocalyptic world where much of humanity has been turned into zombie-like creatures.Players take control of Deacon St. John who was a former bounty hunter, but now must use his combat and tracking skills in order to survive this new hostile world. Two years have passed since the world became corrupted and our protagonist has taken accustomed to living life on the go, drifting from one makeshift town to another.

This is not just a mindless zombie game where you’re goal is to save the day. Instead, this is a more bleak narrative which follows a broken man. Instead of just living to survive, Deacon is out there in the open world where he will meet a cast of characters, all with their own ideas and backstory. However, the main campaign focuses on the idea that somewhere out there in the post apocalyptic world is Deacon’s wife, potentially still alive and it’s become a quest to either find out what happened years ago during the outbreak or potentially find her among the living.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

  • Developer: Square Enix
  • Publisher: Square Enix
  • Platforms: PS4
  • Release: April 10, 2020

The Final Fantasy franchise has a massive following. There are plenty of favorite installments as well from the long-running series, but one of the biggest happens to be Final Fantasy 7. The video game was not only a fan favorite installment from the franchise but has become an iconic RPG for the entire genre as well. After being released on the original PlayStation, it took until the release of the PlayStation 4 that we got word of Square Enix was delivering a remake of the title though there were going to be a few changes.

For starters, the gameplay mechanics changed for the traditional turn-based RPG to an action-RPG similar to the gameplay found in the Kingdom Hearts series. Also, the game is being released episodically with the first part being available right now. Unfortunately, the story is not complete yet, but being such an iconic journey with a unique cast of characters, we’re sure that this is going to be quite the narrative story to either replay or enjoy once again.
