Tree of Life | Challenge Tomb Guide
Starting from the Riverside Base Camp in the Mission of San Juan area, the tomb is located in the south. Go down to the hunting ground and squeeze through the overgrown gate. Bust down the wooden barrier wall and climb down. You’ll need to blast the explosive natural gas with fire arrows.
- After blowing up the first natural gas barrier with a fire arrow, you’ll reach a switch. Activate it and a stream of natural gas will spew from the statue’s mouth. Detonate the gas to destroy the barrier leading into the Challenge Tomb proper.
- Once you reach the roots of the enormous tree, detonate the explosive gas near the circular platform below. The explosion will propel the platform up toward Lara. Jump onto it and ride it down.
- Follow the path to another explosive gas statue switch. Activate it (and clear out the enemies) — then go up to the gasp. Detonate the explosive gas from here to propel the platform, letting you cross the gap.
- Go up until you reach another long gap with an axe-grapple point. Go right and cut the rope to release the circular platform. On the other side, activate another natural gas statue switch.
- Return to the first circular hanging platform, then detonate the explosive gas. This will lower the second platform while raising up the first — stand on the first and jump over.
- In this area, cut down the stuck circular platform, then release the explosive gas with the switch in the back wall. Stand on the platform you just got un-stuck and blast the explosive gas. This time, you’ll be lowered down.
- There’s a huge swarm of enemies down below. Fight through them, then climb up to the jungle top to finally receive your reward.
Reward: Kinich Ahau’s Boon – Health is instantly restored once when near death in battle. Refreshes between encounters.
