Black Ops 4: Blackout – Check Out All 14 Areas & What They’re Based On | Map Guide

October 10, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Take a tour of Blackout, the new Battle Royale map built for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, with our rundown of all 14 locations. Here’s what you can expect, and what old maps they’re referencing.

#5: Firing Range

  • References: Firing Range (Black Ops 1 & Black Ops 3), Studio (Black Ops 2)

This place is an absolute killbox. Filled with unique buildings and lots of targets, it’s very easy to get lost in the maze of rooms and courtyards. There’s a bar out front, and a few shacks / barns to explore. You’ll also find some of the best weapons on the table out front — powerful gear that usually only spawns in a Supply Drop will spawn right near the Firing Range entrance. It’s all up for grabs, just don’t get shot in the back.

This is an extremely close-range area. Even when you’re facing the titular firing ranges, you won’t be able to see far into the distance. A tall wall (and dirt) blocks sight lines into and out of the area. If you like ambush tactics, this is a good place to start.

#6: Array

  • References: Array (Black Ops 1)

The massive Array building in the center of the area is the standout structure. From here, you can see everything in the multi-level environment, and the building is deceptively complex. There’s an underground concrete passage, as well as an exterior path that leads up to the array catwalks. The building’s upper levels have a circular design, so you can easy survey the environment with an Assault Rifle.

You can also take control of the two-story facility next door to the main array. There’s a nice overlook ledge with windows, and a big rooftop with ladder accessibility. There are smaller arrays on the edges, but with virtually no cover up there, they don’t seem like a great scouting spot.
