The Beast Inside
- Developer: Illusion Ray Studio
- Publisher: Movie Games S.A., PlayWay S.A.
- Platforms: PC
- Release: 2019
The Beast Inside comes from a successful Kickstarter campaign. From development team, Illusion Ray Studio, players will be diving into a horror adventure title. Within the game, the story will follow Adam, a CIA cryptanalyst, who decides to move into the country with his wife to deal with work regarding the Cold War. Things go south very fast when Adam discovers an old journal in the antic of his new home which was owned by a man named Nicolas, who was dealing with some strange supernatural horrors during the Civil War era. With the journal opened, it seems that the supernatural elements have once again appeared within the home and surrounding areas. Players will then go through the game taking control of both Adam and Nicolas in their time periods.
Gameplay is in the first-person perspective and while footage has shown the protagonist fighting off a hostile enemy with a weapon, it seems the focus in terms of gameplay is puzzle solving and exploration. Gathering clues is basically the goal while you hide and run away from the enemies. While the Kickstarter campaign managed to raise the funds and an expected release date was March of this year, there hasn’t been a strong release date set for when the game will hit the marketplace.

Frogwares, development team, have delivered a wide range of Sherlock Holmes based video games. As a result, they know how to deliver a mystery and mechanics for a video game that is heavily based around investigations. Tossing in the element of The Sinking City being part of the H.P. Lovecraft universe and you have a horror title that’s well worth checking out when it finally hits the market on March 21, 2019.
Pathologic 2
- Developer: Ice-Pick Lodge
- Publisher: tinyBuild
- Platforms: PC
- Release: 2019
Pathologic 2 is an upcoming horror title based around a town that is plagued by disease. Most citizens have written the town off but few still hold on hope and as a result, there must be a cleansing to rid of those infected. Throughout the game players will not only have to battle against the plague but also loot, murder, mug, steal, barter, beg your way to the end. Players take the role of three different characters, much like the first installment but unlike the first installment, the game will be released in parts. Those who want to dive into the game sooner than later may be delighted to know the horrors you’ll encounter won’t be too far out. This title is being developed by Ice-Pick Lodge which was hit with an economic crisis in Russia and as a result, funding for the game was drastically reduced.
Instead of giving up the development team opted to release the game in a new approach. Rather than having players wait, the development team is opting to bring the game out in three different parts, the first being the Haruspex, followed by the Bachelor and lastly the Changeling. This was done to allow gamers to jump into the game sooner rather than having to wait for the full release which may not be until the end of this year.
