Deus Ex: Mankind Divided takes place in 2029, exactly two years after the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Players will once again step into the shoes of Adam Jensen as he seeks out the Illuminati, a group that was responsible for the Aug Incident of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

As noted, Deus Ex: Human Revolution presented gamers with the Aug Incident, an event where augmented humans became uncontrollable and lethally violent. This was due to a hacker group is known as Illuminati who implanted technology that would allow the ability to control these affected humans.

Adam Jensen is an augmented former private security officer that is now working with a special Interpol unit known as Task Force 29. This task force seeks to capture terrorist groups that use augmentations against the innocent. However, Jensen is also working in secrecy with a hacking group known as Juggernaut Collective that is currently seeking members of the Illuminati.

#24 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

  • Developer: Monolith Productions
  • Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Within Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, players step into the shoes of a ranger named Talion. Early on within the narrative, Talion becomes cursed with what is known as un-death. The game takes players on a journey full of revenge and heroism as Talion seeks out to rid any orcs he crosses paths with.

#23 Spider-Man

  • Developer: Insomniac Games
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment

Spider-Man is an video game title under developers Insomniac Games who are previously known for their Ratchet & Clank and Resistance video game franchises. Their latest upcoming title will breathe some new life into the Spider-Man story as this video game title will not be linked to any past comic books or cinematic movies.

Furthermore, we’re not going through some origin story of Spider-Man. Instead, the video game will be focused around Peter Parker, eight years after he has established the role of being the famed hero. From what we know so far, this is an open-world title where the narrative will follow Peter Parker graduating college while keeping up as protector of New York City.

The video game will also give players the ability to go through the narrative as not only Spider-Man but as the civilian Peter Parker character as well. According to the trailers released, Spider-Man’s main antagonist will be Mister Negative, who turns out to be Martin Li, one of New York’s prominent philanthropist and owner of the F.E.A.S.T. shelters that Aunt May works at.

#22 Fallout 4

  • Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
  • Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

If you’re a fan of the Fallout franchise then it’s likely you’ve already picked up the latest release. However, if you’re completely new to the series, Fallout 4 still marks as a great first entry. Set during the events of a nuclear war, players manage to escape annihilation by being secured safely inside a protective vault. Players are then awoken hundreds of years later to a world that is nothing more than decay.

Each installment to the Fallout franchise manages to bring out an incredible wasteland to explore and Fallout 4 is no exception to that trend. You’ll come across old ruins, new structures, and a fleshed out cast of characters to meet along your journey.

#21 Doom

  • Developer: id Software

Gamers take on the role of an unnamed marine as he battles against demonic forces both outside and inside Hell after the Union Aerospace Corporation sought to extract energy from the inner parts of Hell as a means to solve Earth’s energy crisis. However, after one of the scientists within the corporation made a pact with the demons in Hell, she opened a portal allowing the demonic invasion, leaving the unnamed marine the last stand against the end of humanity.
