#30 Watch Dogs 2

  • Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
  • Publisher: Ubisoft

Watch Dogs 2, much like the first installment of the Watch Dogs franchise, is set in an open-world environment. Players take on the role of Marcus Holloway, a hacker that is affiliated with the infamous hacking group DedSec.

Set in San Francisco, the city starts to roll out the Central Operating System, otherwise known as ctOS, which allows everyone and everything to be connected. After Marcus Hollow is framed for a crime and ctOS recognizing him as a suspect, Marcus opts to work with DedSec to take down the system while also freeing innocent citizens of being ruled by the privacy invading city security system.

#29 Superhot

  • Developer: Superhot Team
  • Publisher: Superhot Team

Superhot was a hit after indie developers first introduced the game as an entry to the 2013 7 Day FPS Challenge. The developers crafted a title in which players take control of a protagonist that must take down a slew of red glowing humanoids. However, the big catch to this title is that time only moves when you do.

As a result, players can carefully and slowly move around the level in order to avoid being hit by bullets or other projectile objects. This simple concept grew from a small entry project for a competition to a full video game release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

#28 Destiny 2

  • Developer: Bungie
  • Publisher: Activision

The sequel to Destiny takes place after the events of Destiny: Rise of Iron. This title starts off with the Red Legion faction of the Cabal having attacked The Last City. Guardians are forced to flee and find new powers to face the Red Legion and bring order over The Last City once again. Just as before, there is new content being added to the game in order to extend narratives or competitive gameplay with other players. This is also a title intended for players to join together and play online.

#27 Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

  • Developer: Treyarch
  • Publisher: Activision

There seems to never be any shortages when it comes to the Call of Duty franchise and this year we’ve received a new installment to the Black Ops line. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be launched in October of this year though there is one rather major element that was completely dropped with this latest installment.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 does not contain a campaign mode. In the day and age of battle royale modes being incredibly popular, Treyarch has decided to make this Call of the Duty title to feature nothing more than a multiplayer component.

The focus was doubling down on the multiplayer game modes including Zombies. So if you’re a fan of Call of Duty for their online multiplayer matches then you have nothing to worry about in this installment but with that said, if you picked up the latest installments to enjoy the action-packed campaigns then you may have to hold out for the 2019 installment release.

#26 Apex legends

  • Developer: Respawn Entertainment
  • Publisher: Electronic Arts

Much like Fortnite, Apex Legends is a battle royale video game title. It’s quickly becoming the latest and greatest within the genre due to the fact that is also another free video game title to download. Likewise, Respawn Entertainment kept this game a secret which generated a ton of hype when it was released into the market. Gamers quickly downloaded this title and it gathered millions of players within its initial launch week. Again, the game is a battle royale title so ultimately this first-person shooter will have players striving to be the last man standing.

Players will find that the game will focus on teams of three and that the characters featured are hero classed based which offers their own unique attributes and abilities. Likewise, if you enjoy the Titanfall series then you will find that this game actually takes place in the same universe. Apex Legends takes place approximately thirty years after the events of Titanfall 2. If you never really tried a battle royale title then honestly we save give this title a try. It’s currently the biggest hit right now and as a result, you’ll find that there is a massive community actively playing the game. Best of all, if you have a few friends then you can easily start a squad together for online matches.
