Sudden Strike 4
Sudden Strike is back with a fourth installment and the game will bring in bigger battlefields, more units, better graphics, new scenarios, and legendary commanders. The fourth installment was originally considered to be a reboot in the franchise but that didn’t last too long before becoming just another installment to the series.
Players will complete three extensive campaigns that will take place in various battlefields of World War II. No matter what faction your command, players will be able to control over a hundred different units into battle along with the ability to choose from one of nine individual commanders such as George Patton or Bernard Montgomery.
Verdun
Verdun is a first-person shooter based on the first World War. Players will fight within the trenches while using authentic weapons from the time period. Gameplay is intense and merciless with developers showcasing a realistic World War I setting on the western front between 1914 and 1918.
Since the game is set to be as realistic as possible for the time period, players will also be able to play with friends in a tactical squad-based game mode. You and your squadmates will go through battles within the trenches to fend off the enemy factions through the smog of dirt and gunpowder.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus & Wolfenstein: The New Order
Wolfenstein: The New Order is a reboot of the iconic Wolfenstein franchise. The game puts players into an alternate universe where the world has successfully been taken over by the Nazis party. Overall, the game focuses on BJ Blazkowicz, a man who was once on death row but managed to escape and join the resistance to fight off the Nazis and regain a peaceful regime.
The video game Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus follows the events of Wolfenstein: The New Order which alters historical events. With the Nazi Regime ruling the world, a military resistance looks to fight back within America, acting as the nation’s second American Revolution against the Nazi rule.
Both video game titles are available for the PC platform and each is well worth picking up to enjoy, though neither of the two games offers a multiplayer aspect. Instead, you’re looking at two singleplayer narrative journeys.
Battlefield V
EA DICE kept the same formula for Battlefield V after the success of Battlefield 1. The video game is a first-person shooter that takes place in the war-torn era of WW II and just like Battlefield 1 players will have a campaign narrative that follows in an episodic format. Instead of taking place with just one particular protagonist, players are tossed around between various characters as each looks at the war from their perspective. For example, you’ll get some background of the Norwegian resistance as they attempt to sabotage a German nuclear program.
There are of course a multiplayer aspect of the game. Outside of the standard game modes you’re likely well accustomed to from the Battlefield franchise like Team Deathmatch and Domination, DICE also brought out a battle royale game mode that came in March of 2019. This mode pins over sixty players as they attempt to be the last man standing.
