Zelda: Breath of the Wild – How To Solve All Shrines | Central Walkthrough

March 29, 2017 by Kevin Thielenhaus

On WiiU & Switch: Save these shrines for last, because the Central region isn’t so easy to explore. When you’re ready, here are all the puzzle solutions.

Table of Contents – Central Shrines

  • Rota Ooh Shrine
  • Dah Kaso Shrine
  • Kaam Ya’tak Shrine
  • Wahgo Katta Shrine
  • Katah Chuki Shrine
  • Noya Neha Shrine
  • Saas Ko’sah Shrine
  • Namika Ozz Shrine

Kaam Ya’tak Shrine – Trial of Power

Travel north from the Outskirts Stable or look south of the Central Tower. The shrine is nestled on Mount Daphnes, just northwest from the Exchange Ruins. It’s visible from Windvane Meadow.

Here, Link is faced with a strange contraption — a stone boulder hanging by a chain. Use Magnesis on the smaller orb in the cage above the contraption to manipulate the larger boulder. Move it back, then forward to push open the stone doors.

Ahead, to get through the spike gauntlet, use Magnesis to grab the sliding spike balls and stop up the works. When the spike balls are stopped, you’ll be able to get through safely.

Around the corner ahead, there are two Guardian Scouts. Defeat them, and then shoot down the hanging lantern to burn the leaves — creating a chain reaction that burns the wooden platform holding up the stone boulder.

  • Optional Chest: Found to the right of the second stone boulder. Very visible.

You can also shoot a fire arrow at the wooden platform itself. Either way, the stone boulder will roll down and knock open the second set of stone doors.

  • Optional Chest: Through the second stone doors, turn left to spot a chest in an alcove. Visible next to the stairs.

Continue down the path. You’ll have to defeat two more Guardians — past them, use Stasis on the seesaw to safely cross it. At the third stone door you need to open, look up at the large (and odd) contraption to the left.

There is a motion control device, but ignore it. Instead, use Stasis on the large stone boulder, then use Magnesis on the smaller metal orb. Hit the stone boulder twice while it is still in Stasis to send it up the ramp and through the third set of stone doors.

  • Optional Chest: Found right next to the third stone door.

At the third door, use a fire arrow to burn down the stone boulder platform. Next, you’ll need to press the button just as the boulder rolls down the slope. Pressing the button raises a ramp — as long as you have enough speed, the boulder will roll onto the tilting platform.

The trick is that the tilting platform needs to have Stasis activated or the boulder will slide off into oblivion. If the tilting platform is in Stasis, the boulder will blow open the stone doors.

Next up, we have the fourth stone doors. Step on the button to lower the gate, then Stasis the large object on the tracks. While in Stasis, attack several times to charge up a powerful launch that knocks open the stone doors.

Go through the final set of stone doors and stand on the launch platform. Hit the switch, launch up, and you’ll land right next to the altar.

  • Optional Chest: The last chest is behind bars near the launch pad switch. Drop down onto the walls behind the bars to circle behind and collect this chest for a free diamond.
