Return to Skyrim Next Week

October 21, 2016 by Nick Monroe

On October 28th, take your Xbox One and PS4 (or PC) on an epic journey.

It was an instant classic of the last video game generation. Bethesda Softworks had raised the bar with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and they needed to make sure their follow-up was a grand slam. On November 11th, 2011, they released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim out to the gaming public. The mission was certainly accomplished. The game spread like wildfire, and the internet was filled with “arrow to the knee” jokes for weeks. In the years that followed, the development team released three hearty expansion packs – Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn.

Next week, we can relive the Skyrim experience one last time.

Skyrim: Special Edition remasters the video game for the current console era and 2016 PC. The game now has god rays, a more dynamic depth of field, high-definition effects and textures, to name just a few visual changes. Naturally, this Edition of the game will include the post-release DLC and add-ons that were added to the game after it’s initial launch. But the most noteworthy change for console platforms is that they’ll have access to PC mods for the first time ever. This idea was first implemented to Fallout 4, and one would hope that Bethesda was able to work out any obstacles along the way this time.

Skyrim: Special Edition comes out on October 28th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To learn more about the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
