Resident Evil Requiem Won’t Only Feature Raccoon City

November 25, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Masato Kumazawa says there are more stages than Raccoon City.

Resident Evil fans are waiting to dive into that next major installment. We know that we’re going to Raccoon City with Resident Evil Requiem. That’s a very notable location, as this is the origin of the entire franchise. The virus outbreak happened in Raccoon City, and we know it was thought to be stopped by sending a tactical missile strike on the city.

However, as you all know, that didn’t stop things. We’ve continued to enjoy the Resident Evil games over the past few decades. Each game brought us a new location, another slew of enemy variants to fight against, and more lore to unravel. Now, thirty years later, fans will get to step back into the rubble of Raccoon City and discover what remains.

Resident Evil Requiem Won’t Only Feature Raccoon City

Now, Raccoon City is a significant part of why there’s a lot of hype behind this specific release. Fans are eager to see the location after all these years, and the storyline ties back to that city. If you’re unaware, players are stepping into the role of Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa Ashcroft. With Grace working as an FBI analyst, she’s sent out to Raccoon City to help solve a series of murders.

Resident Evil Requiem producer, Masato Kumazawa, recently spoke with Checkpoint Gaming. During their conversation, the producer confirmed that Raccoon City was not the only location we would be spending time in. Instead, there is at least one other stage that players can roam in. That seems to be the location we’ve seen some of the media demos featured at the moment.

(To make) one thing clear: it’s not just Raccoon City that you’re going to be playing in, as you saw in the demo, that’s actually a different stage. Just wanted to say, with Raccoon City, we just wanted to say, “How do we visit and also how do we scare?” What I want the players to keep in mind is to look forward to it when it gets released. The team’s trying to do lots of trial and error to make sure, “Okay, what’s scary? What might make players feel this more horror feeling?”

I believe the development of Requiem has been the game that has had most of the trials and errors out of the franchise so far.

What we don’t have is any idea of how many stages there will be within Resident Evil Requiem or how long a session we’ll have in Raccoon City. That remains a mystery, but we do have some insiders revealing how long this game will be compared to the previous installments. Likewise, there’s confirmation that we’ll see some familiar faces during the campaign, but at the moment, we don’t know who will appear.

Currently, Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27, 2026. When the game releases, you’ll find it available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
