Prior to the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2, the leaks were getting a little out of hand. Every other day more information was leaked from a new source. One source that burst on the scene was the leaker “from the future” aka NextHandheld, who seemed to possess a great deal of information on the new console and promised pictures on Christmas day. That leaker delivered and as a result, gained a degree of reliability in the process. Now rumours are circulating that the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature Hall-Effect Joysticks and NextHandheld agrees.
Redditor iZmaMonki compiled a document of all of the information shared by NextHandheld the leaker from the future. Noyaktig another Reddit user shared a summary of that document. There’s recently been a rumour circulating that the Switch 2 will feature hall-effect joysticks. Noyaktig noted that NextHandheld had said as much in one of their posts on Reddit. However, upon posting NextHandheld replied with more information stating that the hall-effect joysticks were confirmed with a teardown.
You may wonder why this is important. The original Switch was plagued with drift issues. A problem that was so prolific that other companies began manufacturing hall-effect replacements for the original Switch’s joycon. The inclusion of hall-effect joysticks from the factory is great because it dramatically decreases the likelihood of joycon drift.
As stated before, information provided by NextHandheld can be considered more reliable. However, it is still a leak and it’s always best to take these updates with a pinch of salt to avoid disappointment.
