Hades 2 is laden with loot – everywhere you look there is something to pick up and stash in your fanny pack. Granted, this often requires copious amounts of undead slaying, but that’s just how Melinoe works. Pound a skeleton into dust, and harvest their ashes – it’s a good time for everyone involved (almost).
Hidden away from the prying eyes of newer players, however, are some incredibly rare resources that only unlock later in the game. These are required for high-level rituals and upgrades and often only come from a handful of places. Unless you are Star Dust, in which case you only come from ONE place. In this guide, we will go over what Star Dust is and how you can get your hands on it.
Note: Do be aware that Hades 2 is still in Early Access, so anything and everything is subject to change.

What Is Star Dust
Star Dust is one of the most underwhelmingly rare resources in Hades 2. It takes a long time to unlock, it’s difficult to gather, and it doesn’t have many uses in the early stages of Hades 2’s Early Access. From what we can gather, there are only two things you can use Star Dust for:
- A single Incantation (Beast-Loved Morsel Recipe)
- Arcana Upgrades
Kind of underwhelming, even if one of the Arcana grants you a bonus revive. Despite the limited uses of the resources (as of writing), it won’t hurt to stockpile as much as you can because we are fairly certain Hades 2 will expand to use it more later in development.
How To Get Star Dust In Hades 2
Obtaining Star Dust is time-consuming, limited, and fun. Star Dust is your reward for completing Chaos Trials, which is something that won’t go into massive amounts of detail here. That’s because we have a guide dedicated to Chaos Trials which you should check out for more information. That said, Chaos Trials are short challenge runs that have all kinds of fun modifiers. You get one Star Dust per trial completed.
Of course, to unlock Chaos Trials you need to activate the Pitch Black Stone, which again is covered in the aforementioned guide. Tl;dr, you need to talk to Chaos. A lot. Chaos will eventually give you the Abyssal Insight Incantation after many conversations (and we assume a Nectar to improve relations). Incant the Incantation, head to the Stone, and boom, you have Trials. Just be aware that visiting Chaos takes a toll on your HP, and his Boons, whilst powerful, always come with temporary downsides.
There are a limited number of Trials in Early Access, with more being unlocked as you hit certain milestones of progression. There are about half a dozen (that we have uncovered), and since you can’t replay them, there is a finite amount of Star Dust currently available in the game.
As far as we are aware, there is no other way to obtain Star Dust. Thankfully, Chaos Trials are fun to complete, so you are having a good time whilst farming your rare gubbin.
That’s all we have on Hades 2 for now. Be sure to check out our other guides and content for more tips, tricks, and updates.
