Conan O’Brien is not a man who enjoys playing video games but does so anyway for our amusement and is more than happy to entrap others into his Clueless Gamer segments. The latest sees Conan team up with YouTube personality PewDiePie to take on the many threats of Ubisoft’s newly released Far Cry Primal.
Conan has no qualms about exhibiting his gaming inexperience, no matter what he’s playing or who he’s playing it with. It’s often fun to watch games being played by a comedian who’s detatched from the medium but this video seems a little awkward. PewDiePie did admit to feeling a “bit nervous” on Twitter when the session was recorded and Conan doesn’t really set up any comedic opportunities for the YouTuber.
Far Cry Primal takes players back to 10,000 BC and the primeval land of Oros. Ubisoft even created their own language for the game but it’s not as much of a departure from previous games in the Far Cry series as you might expect. Even so, the game does take certain risks and the change of setting means the usual shooter gameplay has been overhauled. If anything, it’s the game’s familiar features that work against it and the overall story is somewhat lacking.
Regaardless, the world of Oros is a beautiful one and Ubisoft’s open-world game crafting abilities are clearly on display.
Far Cry Primal launched earlier this week and received generally favourable reviews from most outlets. For more on Far Cry Primal, check out our dedicated game tag.
