Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the next project coming from Rocksteady Studios. They’re the team behind the Batman Arkham Trilogy and are known for making incredible titles. Their new game flips the script by putting you in the role of villains trying to save the world versus the main DC Comics characters who you’d expect to anchor such a gaming title. Unfortunately, despite having such an experienced squad, pun intended, making the game, the title has been delayed multiple times. Currently, it’s set to arrive in 2023, but a new rumor is saying that a beta for the game could be coming out sooner than that.
An insider claims that a few pieces of code have been found in the PlayStation Store. The significance of these code bits is that they indicate a beta for the game is coming. The insider in question has been reliable with reports like these in the past, so it’s not so easy to dismiss. If you look at it from what the game will be, it makes sense that a beta could happen. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League isn’t a single-player game solely. You can play it in co-op with three other players.
Each player will have to choose one of the four members of the team to control. They can be Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, or King Shark. All four members have different play styles, so you’ll want to pick someone with your preferred playstyle.
Going back to the beta, having a 4-person co-op in a high-quality title means you need to test it out and see how it runs with other players across multiple systems. There’s no doubt that Rocksteady will be testing this in-house, but sometimes bugs can only be found by those who haven’t played the game before. Plus, gamers could help spell out other issues with the game or co-op, like flow, whether a character is overpowered or not, and so on.
Another bit of information that came from this report is that we’ll get another look at the title via The Game Awards. That would make sense, as that was when we got the last trailer for the game.
The title focuses on the titular Suicide Squad being dispatched by Amanda Waller to kill the Justice League after they were mind-controlled by Brainiac. Unfortunately, we’ve only seen small glimpses of them fighting the League, so perhaps a new trailer will further cement the game and its gameplay.
