Rocket League is deceptively simple, and that has been its strength since it was first released over seven years ago in 2015. Easy for anyone to pick up but incredibly difficult to master, the title has since become one of the most popular esports around and reported over 40 million players at the beginning of 2018. Now free-to-play, it’s hard to imagine just how many people are jumping into the arena. Touted as “soccer, but with rocket-powered cars,” the game has just recieved a substantial new update, celebrating its fifth anniversary on the Nintendo Switch.
The two new arenas, The Block (Hoops) and Farmstead (Spooky), can now be played in Free Play, Exhibition Matches, or in a Private Match. The Block is also available in Online Matches starting today.
For a limited time only, Rocket League players can also grab the El Chapulin Colorado Bundle in the Item Shop for 1,000 credits. The free Heroe Colorado Player Banner is also available, and both can be snagged until October 17.
