EA has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Battlefield 3 expansion, Strike at Karkand, in a recent blog post. They also released information on how the 10 all-new Assignments in the expansion extend the persistence in Battlefield 3.
EA ensures that Assignments will be tracked no matter if you play a base game map or expansion pack map and will also include the ability to have the map rotation mix base game maps with that of Back to Karkand maps.
The blog post also describes “Let it Rain,” one of the new Assignments in the expansion. “To complete this assignment, players must score 20 kills with Light Machine Guns and two mortar kills. The game will keep track of how far along you have come to fulfill it. When you have met the requirements, you will unlock a new Back to Karkand weapon (with a matching set of dog tags) to use on any map including the base game. You will also unlock the new Creeping Death Assignment.”
Those who originally pre-ordered Battlefield 3 will get the expansion for free, which will be released some time in December.
