The Newest Fallout 4 Patch Allows Hacking Robots At Any Distance

February 10, 2016 by Carlos Chism

It also turns out Dogmeat is still managing to run that shady duplication business on the side.

Bethesda recently released the 1.3 patch on all platforms for its open-world RPG Fallout 4. This fixes several parts of the game, but not surprisingly also comes with its own bugs (via WCCFTech).

The biggest of these new issues allows players to hack robots from any distance, so long as the player can scope in on them. The robotics perk, which grants the ability to hack robots in the first place, is still required. While this bug hasn’t been confirmed on Xbox One, it’s been reported for both the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game. It was originally noticed by Reddit user Singularity_iOS. While the patch aimed to fix the Dogmeat duplication glitch, it also introduced a new duplication method as well. Dogmeat is a determined friend, and no patch will stand in his way, apparently.

The patch did manage to increase the object fading distance on consoles, which makes objects disappear at a further distance from the player. This ads to the game’s sense of authenticity on consoles. As with any Bethesda game, however, there’s always more to be fixed. You can also check out some of the goofier Fallout 4 bugs we’ve seen so far here.

Thankfully, there seem to be more quality mods and fan crafts than Fallout 4 bugs. These include the awesome vivid texture packs mod that not only makes the game looks better, but also increases performance. There’s also the hilarious and sweet Fallout 4 fan-made valentines cards you can get for that special someone (or for yourself, why not?).
