Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture Listing Appears On SteamDB

January 8, 2016 by Ryan Parreno

The Chinese Room’s latest adventure is bound for PC.

Did you miss out on The Chinese Room’s adventure game Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture? You may get a second chance for it soon.

Previously a PlayStation 4 exclusive, a new SteamDB listing all but officially confirms the game’s pending release to PC. Earlier, it was part of a larger list of leaked Steam releases, although that rumor has yet to be verified.

Much like The Chinese Room’s previous outing, Dear Esther, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture places you in an abandoned location, and given the task of exploring and seeking to find out what’s happened in that location. In this case, it’s an English town whose inhabitants simply disappeared. Floating lights found throughout the town help give clues and share more details about the story.

Much like Dear Esther, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture also received positive critical reception. However, the studio could not afford to develop the game on their own, which is why they partnered with Sony SCE Santa Monica.

It seems safe to assume part of their deal with Sony was an eventual PC port. Thanks to Sony’s newfound willingness to work with developers making games on PC, even publishing them themselves, PC gamers can also choose to engross themselves in The Chinese Room’s latest.
