Blizzard has released a new animated short called A Moment in Crime, teasing two new characters for the upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch.
Done in in the style of 20/20 or Dateline, A Moment in Crime focuses on two characters known collectively as “The Junkers.” Individually, they are known as Jamison “Junkrat” Fawkes and Mako “Roadhog” Rutledge. Junkrat seems to be the brains of this duo having “masterminded this string of attacks that has stretched from the Australian Outback to King’s Row and beyond.” According to his mugshot, Junkrat specializes in explosives, arson, demolition, and barbecue, while Roadhog prefers things like armed robbery, kidnapping, extortion, and theft.
The criminal duo has “burned, bombed, robbed, and killed their way across the world.” How they will fit into the Overwatch universe remains to be seen, but this animated short gives us enough information to know a little bit about their character and how each of them will favor taking down their enemies.
The surviving remnants of what is now known as the cancelled MMO Project Titan, Overwatch was announced late last year as Blizzard’s first new IP in 17 years. Other characters announced so far include Widowmaker, Torbjörn, and Hanzo.
