Later this month, on November 13, thousands of college students all over the globe will fail out of their classes. Blizzard Entertainment is bringing its latest expansion to World of Warcraft, and you are not prepared.
Warlords of Draenor plays with the chronology in Warcraft history a bit, changing things so as to introduce players to characters like Garrosh Hellscream and others. Given the huge amount of lore in Warcraft"s vibrant history, we find it a bit strange that Blizzard Entertainment would want to mess with their canon – especially if it's already so closely related to World of Warcraft's first expansion: The Burning Crusade. If I remember correctly, there was a dungeon in the Hellfire Citadel of The Burning Crusade's Hellfire Peninsula region.
Blizzard has recently announced that they believe World of Warcraft will still be around in 2024, which is quite the statement. While talking to IGN about World of Warcraft's 10 year anniversary, Blizzard's lead designer, Ion Hazzikostas, had this to say:
"I definitely can't tell you what our 20th anniversary is going to be. I can tell you there is definitely going to be one," he said. "I have no doubt saying that. We're definitely planning into the
World of Warcraft might still be around in 2024, but if Warlords of Draenor is indeed the game's last expansion, we're not sure how many people will still be playing it. Maybe Blizzard has some really cool plans for the game, as their development team for World of Warcraft is actually the biggest it has ever been. We're not going to nay say just yet, but if the game is struggling to maintain membership now, we have to question another decade of consumer loyalty.
