Titanfall Open Beta ‘Possible’ Says Respawn Community Manager

January 20, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The game is currently in closed alpha ahead of its March launch.

Respawn's community manager Abbie Heppe has said an open beta for Titanfall is "possible" on Twitter.

The game is currently in closed alpha testing and studio president Vince Zampella said in December that the studio was considering a beta prior to launch.

Producer Drew McCoy has previously commented that the game is "tough" to market because it lacks a single player campaign. McCoy said:

"It's actually been really tough trying to accurately market Titanfall. If you look at what we've done, its a lot different than what most FPS games do. Without a bunch of highly scripted [single player] moments to recam from different angles, the usual 'movie-like' trailer is just about right out."

The studio has also defended its decision to limit multiplayer matches to 6v6 encounters.

Titanfall is set for release on March 11th for PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
