Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – There’s An ‘Easy Mode’ Mod That Slows Down (Or Speeds Up) Gameplay

April 10, 2019 by Kevin Thielenhaus

There’s an ongoing debate surrounding the intense difficulty of Sekiro, and this mod is at the center of it. Here’s how you can make the game easy — or impossibly difficult. Among other features.

We’ve been repeating the same point over and over here on Gameranx — Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is really difficult. This is real-deal, make-or-break, uncompromising difficulty in its purest form. There are many gamers that simply won’t be able to finish this game. No shame.

That’s where this ‘Easy Mode’ mod comes into play. Made by ‘uberhalit’, the Sekiro FPS Unlock And More mod isn’t designed specifically for making this game easier. Really, it’s an all-around mod that gives you more control of the game’s settings, letting you carefully manage a whole bunch of settings that are obviously important to the PC crowd. Things like custom resolution, unlocked FPS, FOV settings, and borderless windowed mode are all included.

The reason why the mod might be an ‘easy mode’ some players are looking for is due to the game speed and player speed options.

With this mod, you can set player speed and game speed to 1%-999% normal speed. For reference, 100% is normal speed. That means you can slow the game down to make each battle just a little easier, or you can speed things up and transform an already fast game into a nightmare hell of inexplicably fast murder-blurs. It’s all up to you.

And yes, it’s completely possible to speed up your player speed and slow down the game speed. You can become an insane blur of steal, slashing through slow-moving slugs on your way to ultimate victory. It’s a fun little mod that give PC players a lot more options, which is always a good thing.

Personally, I did not use this mod or any mod when playing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. While the game is extremely difficult, I always thought the game played fair. The final boss was a true challenge, but one I was able to overcome after my first few encounters.
