We’ve seen plenty of exciting details release on the upcoming strategy title, Total War: Rome 2. Both the full campaign map and a list of the different armies are known, but since this is a sequel that’s about seven years in the making, people want much more than a few facts and figures. Thankfully, developer The Creative Assembly has decided to show a full, 14-minute-long battle to its fans via the IGN channel. Full commentary can be heard from members of the team, and as you’d guess, the dangerous Romans are involved in the bloody skirmish.
What should you be most excited for in this PC-exclusive experience? In Rome 2, you’ll be able to participate in battles that include navel and land combat. Siege battles, encampment battles, river battles, and settlement outskirt battles will help add variety to the gameplay, making use of different unit and tactical nuances than what's seen in the regular field battles. And finally, the game is just bigger and more robust. There have been plenty of Total War games given to players since the original Rome launched in 2004, but all the graphical and system-based improvements will help make this sequel feel like a true leap forward.
Thankfully, you won’t have to wait too much longer to take to either land or sea. Total War: Rome 2, which is being published by Sega, will make its way to the PC Sep. 3. If you watch this video enough times, you just might be able to handle the Egyptians better than the developers when the game finally drops.
