For those of you picking up Dead Space 3 for the Xbox 360s, a reminder: there's some Kinect functionality baked in. And, courtesy of Major Nelson, there's also a handy little cheat sheet that lays out all the possible commands, along with what they do exactly. Or at least what they're supposed to do.
There are four basic categories. First we have Interface commands, which is mostly for locating places and objectives, or simply navigating the inventory, database, and the like.
Next are Gameplay Actions. These include reloading weapons, picking up items, and using health backs. Some of the commands are for when you're also aiming your weapon. So on paper at least, the ability to initiate an action as you're doing something else, by using just your voice, instead of of fiddling with additional buttons, makes a lot of sense.
Third up is Skip & Tram Locations. As the name of the category implies, it's mostly for instant transport to different in-game locations. Instead of fairly generic commands, like the ones in the Gameplay Actions section, these are mostly contingent upon knowing proper names.
And finally there's Co-Op Actions, which only applies when you're playing with a friend. These are designed to help a partner when he or she needs it, or if you're in a tight spot and could use some help.
Some might recall a hidden fifth category, which are built around expletives. But as previously noted, those are hidden, waiting to be discovered.
