The first game oriented gathering of 2013 is taking place this weekend. And while it might not have the glitz and glamor of an E3 or PAX, those who gather in every year in Maryland for the four day celebration of game music and game culture that calls itself MAGFest will all tell you the same thing: their show is better than all the rest.
The modest sized yearly convention has been going 11 years strong, and each and every installment grows in terms of scope and ambition. This time around there's going to be an indie game showcase. Event organizers extended the invite to all indie developers last year, offering free exhibition space for to those who wanted to show off their handiwork.
In the end, 27 different developers answered the call. The entire list can be seen here, and includes a number of well known (at least in certain circles) offerings. Including Mighty Rabbit Studios Inc's Saturday Morning RPG, A_Rival's Senor Footsies, and Strange Flavor's BaraBariBall (which most might recall from the recent the SPORTFRIENDS Kickstarter).
MAGFest takes place at National Harbor, Maryland and runs starting today until this Sunday. Tickets are still available.
