Ubisoft Now Wants To Do A Ghost Recon Flick

January 3, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

The French game makers are clearly intent on taking over Hollywood

First came word of a live action, big screen rendition of Assassin's Creed starring Michael Fassbender . Next came word of the same, this time featuring Splinter Cell and starring Tom Hardy. And now we know of a third Ubisoft game to movie adaptation: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon.

The LA Times reports that Jean-Julien Baronnet, the chief executive of the recently christened Ubisoft Motion Pictures, is in the process of assembling a pitch for the movie.

The source also points out how Ubisoft's filmmaking aspirations might be successful, since they've long used Hollywood-class writers on their games, so it's not as if they're completely unfamiliar with how tinsel town talent operate.

It was also mentioned how Ubisoft is also producing a cartoon based upon the Raving Rabbids franchise, and how other game based projects from other parties include Need for Speed from DreamWorks, Deus Ex from CBS Films, and Warcraft from Legendary Pictures (it was not specified if it was World of Warcraft os just Warcraft).
