Playing as Jason
As Jason, your goal is to hunt down and kill all of the counselors present on the map before they are able to avoid your clutches. While you technically “win” as Jason if you kill one counselor, you should aim to kill as many as possible for experience points and because it’s fun.
Playing as Jason in Friday the 13th: The Game gives you access to many abilities and tools.
Morph: Allows Jason to quickly navigate around the map. Think of it as Friday the 13th: The Game’s version of quick travel. After using ‘Morph’ Jason will be presented with a map. Selecting anywhere on the map will instantly teleport Jason to that location. The map will also display various points of interest such as vehicles that counselor’s may be running to or electrical boxes that can be destroyed.
Sense: Jason’s ‘Sense’ mode focuses on detecting counselors. The more afraid a counselor is the easier they will be to detect. The ‘Sense’ mode will also detect noise and relay it to the Jason player as large sound rings. ‘Sense’ mode also allows Jason to detect counselors in cabins but will not pinpoint their location inside of the building.
Shift: Allows Jason to cover short distances in the blink of an eye. Activating the ‘Shift’ ability will cause Jason to disappear from view of everyone and cause him to quickly accelerate in any direction. Who knew a lumbering giant could be so elusive?
Stalk: Allows Jason to sneak up on unsuspecting counselors. Activating ‘Stalk’ will mute Jason’s proximity music for any nearby counselor and allow him to more easily hear movement.
Rage: The ultimate killing ability. Upon automatic activation, Jason’s abilities are boosted significantly, and he is able to burst through doors and various walls throughout the camp.
Killing as Jason
Grab Kills: Jason can perform a variety of different grab kills. Before a match you will have the opportunity to equip Jason with up to 4 grab kills that you have unlocked. After grabbing a counselor you will brutally murder them if they fail at getting away from your grasp.
Context Kills: Context kills are environmental kills that Jason can perform. After grabbing a counselor the kill locations will appear on objects. Drag the counselor over to the object and interact with it to theatrically execute them.
Traps and Throwing Knives: In addition to grab and environmental kills, Jason has access to two physical tools to murder his prey with; throwing knives and bear traps. Throwing knives can be used to inflict damage on counselors from range, while bear traps can be hidden in high traffic areas to pin down counselors.
Combat Stance: Entering a combat stance allows you to more effectively attack counselors. While in combat stance both Jason and counselors will be able to lock-on and attack each other. Combat stance however will make nearby counselors more agile, giving them the opportunity to roll and evade attacks.
