Earlier today, an Italian retailer, leaked a promotional poster for the upcoming title – Destiny 2. The poster, as seen as above, shows three humans wielding shotguns and no helmets. However, when looking at the top right-hand corner we get to see a release date.
The release for the highly anticipated title is apparently scheduled to release on September 8. But as Kotaku mentions, this might be a European release date as the release date falls on a Friday and normally US games release on Tuesdays.
In addition to the release date, we get to see that Bungie will be holding a beta for the title as well. When that beta takes place is still unknown, however, at least we now know a beta is in the works.
Kotaku’s own Jason Schreier also notes that the game is also coming to PC. This has been a topic of discussion for a while, and if Shcreier’s reporting is true, then the sequel will be accessible to a lot more players.
We recently learned that Destiny 2 won’t be carrying over anything from the original game. When discussing Destiny’s last event — Age of Triumph. Bungie stated the following:
Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player, with new worlds to explore, new stories to tell, new powers to acquire, new loot to earn, and much more. This led us to a decision that would enable us to serve both the game and the player’s best interests: Destiny 1 power, possessions, and Eververse-related items and currency will not carry forward. They will, however, remain accessible to you in Destiny 1.
Now with the leaked Destiny 2 promo out in the wild, Bungie’s official announcement for the game must be imminent. Stay tuned to Gameranx for more news about the sequel.
