Just yesterday, it has been confirmed that Rockstar's highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 5 will be Game Informer's cover game next month.
While no info whatsoever has been released so far, that hasn't stopped people from the internets from making stuff up. Currently, there's an image going around where Game Informer's Andrew Reiner allegedly states that he's seen Grand Theft Auto 5's demo and that they even know the relesae date.
The image above and its claims have since been refuted by Andrew Reiner himself over on Twitter, where he plainly states, "Fake."
In addition to that, a user on Reddit claims that he got an update from his pre-order for Grand Theft Auto 5. In it, a supposed release date has been given.
Got an update on my pre-order that I had placed back in April for GTA V. Current status is that the pre-order release date is on 12/31/13. Wtf? What do you guys think?
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the date listed is a placeholder date and nothing more. Unless, y'know, Rockstar wants to release the game on New Year's eve and whatnot.
I guess we'll just have to wait until Game Informer unveils its cover issue, no? In the meantime, be very wary of new "info" and whatnot cropping.
