Call of Duty what? Riot Games has just released an infograph that revealed a host of very impressive stats for League of Legends.
To call it impressive might even be an understatement. I mean, I know Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games are big, but not this big, Heck, it even dwarfs Call of Duty!
Riot states that League of Legends' monthly active users are at an astounding 32 million players. Its peak daily active player count is at 12 million and on average, it has three million players online simultaenously on a "typica" day.

The stats have been released ahead of the Season Two Championship Finals this coming weekend, which has been garnering news but not the kind you want to put in an infograph.
What's even more impressive here is that League of Legends seems to be a hit worldwide and they're educated, too! Hey, not everyone can boast that their playerbase has over 60 percent that has stepped on a college campus.
I've played a ton of MOBA (mostly DoTA) the last few years, but I would never have guessed that this would get this big this fast. So, is this the new genre that's set to be saturated soon once publishers see how much money's involved? I can see that happening, but as long as the genre is a pain in the ass to play on consoles, I don't think Call of Duty is in danger anytime soon, no?
Are you a Leage of Legends player? Is it the best MOBA game now or are Heroes of Newerth or DoTA 2 better?
