For those invested in the God of War saga, Sony has finally revealed the Collector's Edition and pre-order bonuses for God of War: Ascension.
The Collector's Edition will include an actual bust of Kratos, which, no doubt you want to see. It's pictured below along with the premium steelbook case and the special God of War box to house the Ghost of Sparta.
As you can see, the Collector's Edition seems to be full to the brim with God of War content. Of note is the "Pass for Future DLC Content" that's inlcuded with it. Is this a season pass or only for multiplayer? I guess we'll need to wait for Sony to confirm that one down the road.
The Collector's Edition will cost you $79.99, but if you're feeling a bit stingy or you don't want to spend that much on the game, then pre-ordering the game's Standard Edition (ie: vanilla version) will net you the Mythological Heroes Multiplayer Pack. It will include Perseus, Orion, Achilles and Odysseus as characters you can use in multiplayer. Currently, it's not known if this is an early unlock or if the characters will be exclusive to the pack itself.
If you've pre-ordered the game already, your pre-order will automatically be upgraded to include the Mythological Heroes pack at no extra cost.
One last thing, God of War: Ascencion game director Todd Papy also reveals that they have something "big" coming on October 15. If I had to wager a guess, maybe a multiplayer beta or a demo for Ascension? Nevertheless, we'll know more once the 15th rolls in.
God of War: Ascension is scheduled to hit the PS3 on March 12, 2013.
