Just yesterday we reported that Borderlands 2's Captain Scarlett and Her Captain's Booty DLC has been outed ahead of time. Now, the game's first expansion has been confirmed by Gearbox and we also know its standalone price and release date, too.
Captain Sacrlett and Her Captain's Booty will focus on the one-eyed pirate queen Captain Scarlett, and is set amid an expansive desert that features a bandit-filled town called Oasis.
Here's what Gearbox president Randy Pitchford had to say regarding the expansion (via AP):
You can sense the pirate theme across the landscape, even though there's no water…It's all dried up. It feels more like Tatooine than an ocean. These bandits have really embraced the pirate lifestyle, and there's the legend of a treasure. That kicks off this whole adventure that the players can go on.
In addition to that, the expansion will have new enemies like sand worms, new vehicles like the sand skiff and even a new currency called seraph crystals. Not bad for just an expansion, no?
Captain Scarlett and Her Captain's Booty will be available on October 16 for all platforms and will cost $9.99.
