Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 Releasing as PS4 Standalone Edition

March 20, 2017 by Katrina Filippidis

Hone your skills, show what you’re made of, and become the ultimate fighting master.

Aksys Games and Arc System Works have just announced that 2.5D brawler Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 will be available in the U.S. as both a physical and digital PlayStation 4 standalone edition. REV 2, or Revelator 2, is the sequel to 2015’s action title Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- which came with refined 3D cell-animations and is currently on Steam with overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Last year, Guilty Gear Xrd – REVELATOR – saw the introduction of Dizzy, a fan-favourite character who was available as free DLC for a limited time. Compared to the previous iteration, REV 2 will introduce new fighters, moves, and story chapters:

  • Upgrades, Lots of Upgrades – Two new characters, Baiken and Answer enter the battle! New stages, moves and motions are just the beginning of new content to explore!
  • Legends of Rock – Expanded story and arcade modes shed new light on Jam, Kum, Raven, Dizzy, Answer and Baiken!
  • Balance is the Key – A complete re-balancing of each fighter means that everything old is new again! Explore different fighting techniques with your favorite characters or start fresh with new brawlers!

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 is coming out on May 26 for Ps3 and Ps4, at a RRP of $39.99 USD for the standalone version or $19.99 USD as an upgrade for Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-. A PC port is yet to be confirmed, but if the Steam release of Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is anything to go by, chances are looking good.
