Earlier today Gearbox released their long-awaited DLC with a new character class, Gaige the Mechromancer. But since then, players have been plagued with bugs that they attribute to the DLC. Reports of Badass Ranks resetting, lost items, lost golden keys and customization items have plagued the Gearbox forums all day. It should be noted that at least some of these alleged bugs were reported previously to Gaige's release.
But there is one bug that is definitely from the DLC. Some purchasers are reporting an inability to play cooperatively with other users who don't have the DLC, and vice versa. 2K Games has finally issued a statement to Game Informer, addressing these issues. It is important to note that they assured us that the Badass Rank bug and Gaige's DLC have nothing to do with each other.
“2K and Gearbox have been working steadily to fix a bug reported to us by fans that resets Badass Rank, and while this bug has only been affecting a very small number of players worldwide and does not affect the ability to play Borderlands 2, addressing this issue is still very important to us."
Regarding Gaige the Mechromancer issues, 2K said, "A further compatibility update will follow in the coming days to address connectivity issues between those who have the Mechromancer and those who do not. Full release notes for today’s patch can be read here: Xbox 360, PS3, PC.”
At a time like this, it's very important that if you experience issues you let Gearbox know. It's also important not to take information for truth unless it's a verified source. 2K Games also asked that players who have experienced the non-DLC related issues email them at [email protected] "with as many details as possible to help us gather additional information so that we can squash this reported bug."
