This past Sunday if you were on the European servers Tichondrius or Twisting Nether, you were likely hanging out in the capital cities of Stormwind or Orgrimmar. And there's a good possibility you remember being massacred along with everyone else in the city.
Luckily, things like this can be either annoying or extremely fun to breathe some life into your usual day in World of Warcraft—unlike a real killing spree. Two hackers discovered an exploit in the game and were able to kill every player and non-player character they could find. It also prevented some players from logging in for a while.
The killers were seemingly innocent level ones who didn't have to lift a finger to actually kill any player characters. From the King of Stormwind to the lowliest level one gold spammer, video game death was everywhere. I almost wish I still played World of Warcraft to witness it, but luckily some players caught the murder spree on video for our enjoyment.
Blizzard is aware of the exploit and have already hotfixed it less than a day later, so kudos to them for that. They still haven't caught the players but they are investigating. But because stuff like this is usually only fun once, if you have any information and want to help Blizzard out, you can email [email protected].
Thanks, Cinemablend.
