Capcom has released a batch of new screenshots for its upcoming Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U. Originally released for the Nintendo 3DS, the game has since been updated and overhauled for the new console, allowing it to run fluidly at a resolution of 1080p and make full use of the Wii U’s features and controls.
Despite looking very pretty, the game’s use of preexisting assets from the 3DS version shatter any illusion of the game being anything more than a highly polished port and not an entirely new game.
Regardless of the game’s graphical limitations, it more than makes up for it with added support for four-player local co-op which supports players on both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U to interact simultaneously.
The game is set for release in Japan this Winter, and will be followed up in March 2013 for the North American market.
