If you've played the game for a time, you might've come across a variety of chess pieces dropped by enemies in combat or found in boxes. These chess pieces are essentially skill points, which you can use to purchase skills to improve your character. They're divided among the following pieces:

Pawn Pieces
Average pieces with the value of 50 skill points. 

Knight Pieces
These are worth 100 skill points.

Queen Pieces
These rare pieces are worth 1000 skill points.

Rook Pieces
Strangely, Rook pieces are worth more than Queen pieces, have a value of 1500 skill points.

King Pieces
The most valuable pieces in the game, they are worth 2000 skill points. 

You can spend these chess pieces on your characters in the game's various modes, including Campaign Mode, Mercenary Mode, and Agent Hunt. Many of these skills are shared between the modes and are available to all of them.
