You know we're hard up for any Grand Theft Auto 5 info when almost every bit of morsel gets counted as "news." Well, that time has come again.
This time, it's courtesy of user "Rapter" from the unofficial GTAForums, who states that he works for a game retailer and the Point of Sales (P.O.S.) reveals the release date as March 29, 2013. According to him it's the same as what a U.K. retailer claimed and this info is "all over Google."
Here's his full post:
Hi,
Where I work (A games retailer, will not disclose names.) the P.O.S system has updated the release date of GTA:V to 29th March 2013 the same as a U.K retailer overseas (All over google.). Now I'm not saying this is the legitimate release date but this could possibly be an insight into when we may see this game up on the shelves.
The closest we've seen so far backing this claim is this, which states players will be able to redeem a $20 credit on Grand Theft Auto 5 between February 1, 2013 to May 31, 2013.
Sadly, Rockstar has no discernible pattern when it comes to Grand Theft Auto's release dates. Grand Theft Auto 3, which was on the PS2, was released in October; while Grand Theft Auto 4 was released in April of 2008.
If I had to hazard a guess, maybe Rockstar themselves doesn't have a firm release date for the game just yet. I mean, they are developing the game and they're also notorious for showing off and releasing their games when they want to…E3 and other expos be damned.
Is this post making stuff up? Probably. Either that or the P.O.S. really does list that as a release date but that doesn't make it true. Just remember though, when GTA 5 does release in March of 2013, Rapter called it first.
When do you think Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available? Will it even make it out this generation or is it being prepped as a next-gen release game?
