A poster going by “MoederPoeder” on Reddit’s Black Ops 2 community has put up a photograph of his Black Ops 2 beta download on the Xbox 360, where the game is currently undergoing a very closed, and very private beta test leading up to the game’s release on November 13. That’s next month.
The poster showed a cavalier, devil-may-care attitude by uploading the picture to image service IMGUR in obvious violation of whatever non-disclosure agreement he had agreed to in order to participate in the game’s Friends & Family beta test.
Known under its codename, “Phoenix”, the Black Ops 2 beta appears to weigh in at a meager 1.32GB and presumably contains nothing more than the multiplayer client with its single-player campaign absent from the package. The description itself is the poem “The Eagle” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and reads as follows:
“He clasps the crag with crooked hands; Close to the sun in lonely lands, Ring’d with azure world, he stands. The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls.”
It’s unknown how the poem ties in with the story in Black Ops 2, but I hope it’s more than just a neat reference for the literati among us.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is set for a November 13 release on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
