Injustice 2‘s latest addition to the roster has been revealed courtesy of UpUpDownDown, who went to NetherRealm Studios to meet with Ed Boon and were able to test Firestorm out, and also had the privilege of making the official announcement for this new character.
Firestorm is suited to ranged attacks with fireballs, lasers, and torpedoes, while his character power is his three-tiered nuclear level. The video showcases some awesome Firestorm gameplay while also giving us a look at the team’s visit to NetherRealm Studios.
Previously announced playable characters include Doctor Fate, Cheetah, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Black Canary, Robin, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Batman, Blue Beetle, Darkseid (pre-order bonus), Deadshot, Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Harley Quinn, Supergirl, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
Firestorm looks to be based on the Jason Rusch version of the character. While only teased in the Arrowverse, he is one of the many people to wield the Firestorm matrix in the comics. Firestorm will most definitely pack a giant nuclear punch with his Sueprmove and a blue flame power-up.
Injustice 2 is due out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16.
