It’s sold over 8 million copies worldwide, and annihilated the competition in the Game of The Year awards, but the technical powerhouse more commonly known as Uncharted 4 may be Naughty Dog’s last game for the franchise.
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Co-President of Naughty Dog Evan Wells said there’s a low probability that another Uncharted game will come out:
“I would say that Naughty Dog doing an Uncharted after [The Lost Legacy] is unlikely. I would never say never, but we’ve got The Last of Us Part II on our plates and there’s so much other stuff that [we want to explore]. It’d be hard. If we magically had that two-team, three-team studio, sure, it’d be great to keep doing it. We really love the franchise, but the studio has limited resources and lots of other ideas. I’d say the likelihood is low.”
Wells’ comments support those of Creative Director Neil Druckmann, who revealed last year that he would be ‘excited’ for an Uncharted 5. The latest offering in the Uncharted franchise is Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which will follow the adventures of Nadine Ross and Chloe Frazer.
