Electronic Arts, the parent company of Battlefield franchise makers over at DICE, has now acquired the studio behind the game's social stat-tracking site Battlelog, too.
The studio, which is ESN, is based in Sweden, specializes in real-time web products and is looking to shore up their 20-man staff in lieu of the acquisition.
The press release states:
During the past few years we have been working closely together with EA and DICE to build Battlelog for Battlefield 3. We couldn't be more excited about this opportunity and the team is looking forward to focus all of its energy on DICE, Battlelog and the Battlefield series.
The Battlelog log is available via a web browser or as an iOS app. It's currently being used to connect Battlefield 3 players across the world, but EA's next big shooter — Medal of Honor Warfighter — will also be using the stat tracking site once it's released.
Of course, I think it's safe to presume that Battlefield 4, which will have a beta in 2013, will also be using Battlelog once it's released.
Now that ESN is wholly-owned by EA, let's see them shore up the site, no? Add in a few interesting features to make it really worth our while.
Are you still using Battlelog? If so, what features would you want added in the future?
