What Happens When You Don’t Sleep?

Depriving yourself of sleep isn’t the smartest thing in the world to do. In fact, it can have deadly consequences. A streamer recently died while doing a week-long marathon of gaming while playing World of Tanks, live on Twitch—and he did it in spite of repeated warnings from his viewers that he should take a break instead of plowing on.
After all, the game would still be there after he woke up. Unfortunately, he refused to heed their advice and played until his heart stopped.
It’s just one of the many dangers that lacking sleep can cause. Besides a rapid decline of health, sleep deprivation has a number of other interesting—if unpleasant—effects, all of which we discuss in our latest video on Waste Time.
