With the Nintendo Switch finally out, generating the strongest GameStop console launch in years, and Nintendo trying (but failing) to discourage people from tasting Switch game cartridges, you’d think much of the mystery is over. But as it happens, Nintendo has pulled a real National Treasure with their hardware.
Thanks to the efforts of eagle-eyed redditor Tropiux, a cleverly-concealed message on the Nintendo Switch Pro controller has been brought to light for all of us to see. Beneath the right joystick, there’s a series of letters which spells out “THX2 ALLGAMEFANS”. Other redditors have suggested the reason for its inclusion is so that counterfeit controllers are more easily identified. Regardless, it certainly begs the question – are there any other hidden messages elsewhere?
Nintendo Switch launched on March 3 with a modest game lineup. Amongst the launch titles was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which received unanimously positive reviews amongst critics.
